The evolution of wristwatch design
The first wristwatch, surprisingly enough, was not created as a luxury item or even as a household appliance. They were designed mainly for the military, or rather, combat officers who are directly in combat positions. Therefore, the very first products of this type were also called trench clocks. They were more convenient for combat conditions than the usual pocket models for that time.
The first wristwatch
Some historians believe that the first wristwatches were made for Eugene Beauharnais– a divisional general, stepson of Napoleon. But the men didn't like them right away – it took several more decades for this idea to be appreciated, at least among the officers. And the real recognition of this accessory came at the beginning of the last century, so the oldest watch manufacturers began their activities with more bulky mechanisms, stationary or handheld.
In the twentieth century, wristwatches from military equipment quickly turned into an attribute of an ordinary wealthy person leading an active lifestyle, and in the wake of female emancipation, the fashion to wear watches spread among the fairer sex. Of course, the enterprising creators of fashion accessories and luxury goods quickly saw an expansion of the field of activity in wristwatches.
Design of wrist models
The first models of trench watches looked like a slightly smaller version of pocket watches (even the flip-down lid was preserved), they were attached to the arm with a strap threaded through a pair of wire loops soldered to the case. Aesthetics didn't even "smell" here, and ergonomics hadn't even begun yet. Almost all popular models of modern wristwatches have smooth body shapes – without sudden changes in overall dimensions and without protrusions that are not justified from a design point of view.
Nowadays, women's wristwatches are often made with very elegant designs and precious metals, so that, in fact, they play the role of jewelry – jewelry or costume jewelry. Sometimes men's models are also distinguished by their catchy, luxurious design. A significant part of the trading houses that supply fashionable clothes or luxury goods also have their own watch products. But, of course, the products of specialized watch brands, especially renowned Swiss watchmakers, are of the highest quality (and therefore prestigious).
Modern Swiss watch brands pay great attention to fashion trends, realizing that the highest technologies will not ensure the popularity of the buyer if the product is unattractive in appearance and not very convenient. With their attention, manufacturers strive to cover all possible options for customer requests. There are both strict classics and a luxurious, obviously "ceremonial" exterior – gold and precious stones on the case.
Fashion trends
Specialized models, like elegant women's watches, are distinguished by a special "uninhibited" design. A huge case, sometimes equipped not even with a bracelet, but with a belt that repeatedly wraps around the wrist (an exclusively female version, large sizes are not in fashion for men's models), or on the contrary, a flirtatious feminine style, without excessive glamour – these are the types of women's watches that have been popular in recent years.
One of the latest delights of women's watch fashion has become "natural" motifs in the design. An ornament repeating the pattern of a bird's feather, wood motifs, even models in the form of stunningly beautiful snakes. However, not every fashionista can afford such a thing – the models are branded and very expensive, and they may lose their relevance literally over the next year. In all respects, more relaxed fashion options are more profitable – elegant drawings on the dial or another variation on the classic theme. Coraz więcej graczy korzysta z rozwiązań mobilnych.
